SCAD School of Entertainment Arts
This fast paced intensive adaptive re-use project featured a unique combination of contemporary design features, modern educational space, tedious structural construction, and a state-of-the-art film production studio. After mobilizing and begging demolition 48 hours after being awarded the project, our team developed an alternate shoring and demolition method to simplify and expedite the selective demolition on the exterior walls. This ingenious pre-planning heled to shave weeks off of the schedule and provided a safer work site for the hundreds of workers on-site daily. Despite encountering several feet of unanticipated unsuitable soil, and numerous owner changes, the project was delivered ahead of schedule and under-budget to offer SCAD the first XR Screen and production facility in the State of Georgia.
