Completed ahead of schedule in just 9 months, the Bouhan Falligant building is a shining example of what can be achieved when an owner, design team, and contractor work together. The new 3 story 17,775 SF Class A office building anchors the South end of Forsyth Park with stately Chicago style architecture and a modern energy-efficient interior. The team evaluated the building’s design to evaluate the exteriors, mechanical systems, electrical systems, and structural design all while working within the constraints of the city’s height ordinance, design guidelines of Savannah’s Landmark Historic District, a fixed budget, and challenging schedule.
The design team of Felder Associates, Chatham Engineering, and Thomas & Hutton Engineering chose a detailed masonry and cast stone exterior of brick and cast stone, conventional structural steel framing, energy efficient VRF HVAC, LED lighting, impact rated stainless steel entry door, and permeable pavers as the parking surface.
The Bouhan Falligant Project received a prestigious Best Project Award from Engineering News-Record in 2017. The award recognizes the best of the best in construction annually and is only the second project in Savannah to receive such recognition.
