West Construction Company, established in 2014 and headquartered in Savannah, Georgia, is proud to celebrate five wins at the 2026 AGC Build Georgia Annual Convention. The awards included three first-place Build Georgia project honors, a corporate safety award, and a special individual recognition reflecting the skill and commitment that define the West Construction team.

West Construction’s 2026 honorees include:

• C+H Precision – Build Georgia Award
• SCAD Hanak Hall – Build Georgia Award
• The Cathedral Spires – Build Georgia Award
• AGC Georgia Award of Excellence in Safety – Corporate Safety Award

C+H Precision is a 50,000-square-foot manufacturing facility that blends multiple construction types and uses under one roof, including a production floor, an indoor gun range, a restaurant, and office space. The unique combination of programs required a thoughtful approach to construction type and safety planning. The West Construction team spent a full year in pre-construction working through a design-assist delivery process, ultimately completing the project on schedule and under budget.

SCAD Hanak Hall, originally built in 1872 as The William Baker House, served as home to the Georgia Medical Society beginning in 1914. In its latest chapter, the 11,000-square-foot building now houses executive offices for the Savannah College of Art and Design. The intensive renovation combined careful restoration of the building’s historic fabric with major structural modifications, modern systems, technology, and life-safety upgrades.

The Cathedral Spires project addressed a decade-long structural crisis at the Cathedral Basilica of St. John the Baptist. The twin spires, added to the Cathedral in 1896 and standing 128 years, had developed cracking discovered in 2012 and initially addressed with $1.5 million in repairs. West Construction’s recently completed structural renovation required crews to perform intricate masonry and steel reconstruction nearly 100 feet in the air on the century-old structure, followed by the addition of cathodic protection to the steel framing — a preservation technique designed to ward off future deterioration and extend the life of the spires for generations to come.

West Construction recognized that these achievements reflect the collaboration of project teams, trade partners, and the broader West Construction organization who came together to deliver award-winning results across multiple project types.

The Build Georgia Awards honor AGC Georgia members for outstanding project execution, safety performance, innovation, and client service across the building, infrastructure, and specialty construction sectors.
